Veelgestelde vragen over wikkelfolie

Wat is wikkelfolie?

Wikkelfolie is een dunne, rekbare kunststof folie ook wel inwikkel folie, stretch wikkelfolie of rol sealfolie genoemd, wat wordt gebruikt om goederen stevig in te pakken. Meestal wordt deze folie toegepast voor palletstabilisatie, waardoor een stabiele wikkelfolie pallet ontstaat tijdens opslag en transport.

De folie wordt gemaakt van LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene), een sterke en flexibele kunststof. Hierdoor is de plastic wikkelfolie zeer rekbaar en scheurbestendig. Stretchfolie kopen kan in verschillende diktes, uitgedrukt in micron. Wij leveren wikkelfolie op rol in diktes van 13 tot en met 35 micron. Hoe hoger het aantal micron, hoe sterker de folie.

Wat is het verschil tussen wikkelfolie en palletfolie?

Er is geen technisch verschil. Palletfolie is een andere benaming voor wikkelfolie die specifiek wordt gebruikt voor het stabiliseren van pallets tijdens transport en opslag.

Wat is het verschil tussen handwikkelfolie en machinewikkelfolie?
Handwikkelfolie wordt handmatig aangebracht met een rol wikkelfolie of dispenser. Machinewikkelfolie is bedoeld voor palletwikkelmachines en bevat meer meters folie per rol voor efficiënt gebruik bij grotere volumes.
Welke dikte wikkelfolie heb ik nodig?

De juiste dikte hangt af van het gewicht en de vorm van de lading. Lichte pallets tot 250 kg kunnen vaak met 15 micron worden gewikkeld. Zwaardere of onregelmatige ladingen vragen om 20 tot 35 micron stretch wikkelfolie.

Is plastic wikkelfolie waterdicht?

Plastic wikkelfolie is waterafstotend en beschermt pallets tegen vocht, stof en vuil tijdens opslag en transport. Het is echter geen volledig waterdichte verpakking bij langdurige blootstelling aan regen.

Kan ik wikkelfolie met handvat gebruiken?

Ja, voor handmatig gebruik is wikkelfolie met handvat of een dispenser ideaal. Dit zorgt voor meer grip, minder belasting van de handen en een efficiënter wikkelproces.

Wat is het voordeel van stretch wikkelfolie ten opzichte van tape of omsnoeringsband?

Stretch wikkelfolie stabiliseert de volledige pallet gelijkmatig. Tape of omsnoeringsband fixeert slechts op enkele punten. Voor optimale ladingzekerheid wordt pallet wikkelfolie vaak gecombineerd met hoeklatten of band.
